Monday arrives after a rather quiet weekend. On Friday I stayed in and did a little cooking. There were a few showers, and I really had no place I had to be so I put together a yummy meat sauce of lean ground beef and hot Italian sausage. I love spicy foods.
This was Saturday's dinner.
Doctor finally sent my test results. Still not quite understanding about my kidney issue, but I do see that creatinine and bun are a bit high.
Creatinine 1.13 mg/dL 0.60 - 0.93 mg/dL
BUN 27 mg/dL 7 - 25 mg/dL
BUN/Creatinine Ratio 24 (calc) 6 - 22 (calc)
I really have no idea what that means, but I don't think it is TOO serious at this point. My granddaughter, a nurse, said it could be dehydration, but it was important to get retested sooner than 3 months as results can worsen quickly.
On a plus side, my Graves Disease remains in remission. Thyroid levels are perfect. That's such a relief. I was praying for that.
Started taking the vitamin D2 for my deficiency. Hoping it brings me some energy and eases the pain some.
I have found something that really helps with the muscle cramping. Nothing like being woke from a sound sleep with your calve or foot cramping up. Worst yet is when it hits around the ankles. Feels like all the bones are breaking. Then I read some reviews on this:
It really does work. For the first time in I don't know how long I was able to get through the night without a cramp. If you suffer from nightly leg cramps, it is certainly well worth a try.
Had plans to be busy yesterday. Was going to
head to church and do a little shopping, and later hubby was going to
take me to dinner and to see Bohemian Rhapsody, but those plans changed in the blink of an eye. Hubby had been sitting there waiting for a light and was
just ready to turn onto the Belt Parkway when an obviously drunk driver
came speeding along and clipped him
good, then took off. Hit and run. Thank God he wasn't injured, but
the front of the car was mangled pretty bad. Hubby's bumper was lying a few
feet away.
Thing is, a
cop was two cars behind hubby and saw the whole thing. The cop wrote it
up and even checked the camera in the store nearby to see if he could
see the guys plate number, but he couldn't see it so the guy got away
from it. Hubby says a few thousand dollars worth of damage. Money to
be laid out and unsure when he will be able to work again. Just can't
seem to catch a break here, but he's alive, uninjured, and that's the
most important thing.
Have a good one.
I am so sorry to hear that happened to you! Thank God your hubby is ok!
ReplyDeleteI used to get leg cramps a lot, but mine were first thing in the morning. Move the wrong way and BAMM! OUCH, no stopping it once it starts. I was told to drink plenty of water because dehydration tends to cause them and it did help me.
You dinner looks delicious!
Mine are worse in the morning as well. At night when I go to bed it's little toe cramps but about 4am I get in the ankles and calves. It's been good to have some relief.
DeleteI am so sorry - but glad that your husband was unhurt.
ReplyDeleteI get spasms in the night often. They wake me shrieking. What is the main ingredient in your miracle cure?
Magnesia Muriatica 1xHPUS whatever that means. It's a homeopathic formula.
DeleteThank you.
DeleteIt was a miracle that your husband wasn't injured.
ReplyDeleteYour meal does look delicious.
Any kind of pain seems even worse at night.
It sounds as if you know what you are doing to relieve some of the discomfort.
I just use Arnica Gel for my knee and hip pain.
Although it hurts to have that happen to the car, we are so grateful that it wasn't worse. It could have been.
DeleteI agree with the nurse..get re-checked sooner rather than later! Make sure you are completely hydrated too...dehydration makes cramps worse!!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to read about your husband and the car, but so very pleased that he wasn't injured.
ReplyDeleteFoods taste extra nice with a little added spice!
All the best Jan
