Good Tuesday morning. Had a nice time yesterday.
We talked about falling in Wellness class. Something we all have to pay attention to. I used to have weak ankles and would be walking, my ankle would turn, and down I would go. Thank goodness I do that anymore, not with these old bones.
Yesterday was also the last day of Food for Life, and we made something delicious.
Some of my classmates. Several missed because of the nasty weather. The young girl is one of the interns who helps out.
This is what we made yesterday--puff pastry dough, peanut butter, chocolate chips, granola, and some put blueberries as well.
This is mine. I skipped the blueberries. In my opinion, they do NOT go with peanut butter. I put mine in the freezer when I got home. Hope it keeps until after my weigh in.
I forgot yesterday to talk about Mother's Day. It was cold and wet here. Set my bones to aching, so in the afternoon I headed for bed. Put the chirping birds on my Kindle Fire and fell into a deep sleep, so deep that I didn't hear the 5 phone calls from hubby who was now worried and the calls from my daughter and son. Haven't slept that deep in a long, long time.
My youngest son sent me an Amazon card. He knows how much I love to shop there.
My daughter sent me this beautiful Mother/Daughter necklace.
My older son sent me these beads. I can't wait to get started with them.
I kept hoping this might be the year that I heard from my oldest son, but it didn't work out. That would have been the greatest gift.
Heading over to the center later this afternoon. A speaker is coming to talk about sleep problems. Hoping it's worth it.
Have a good one.
That had to have been a deep sleep to have missed five phone calls. I wish I could sleep so sound.
ReplyDeleteIt was quite unusual for me. Something about those birds chirping just knocked me out.
DeleteFor me, it is the ocean sounds and believe it or not, the rain and thunderstorm noises that help me to sleep pretty soundly. For some strange reason, the birds just wake me up instead of help me to sleep. I guess it goes way back to when I was growing up in the country and the birds woke us up early EVERY day ... lol.
ReplyDeleteYour beads looks pretty ... you will have fun with them I am sure.Your pastry looks YUMMY!!!!!
I use the ocean or rain and thunderstorm at night. They really help. I use the birds in the daytime because it reminds me of growing up in the country. Just the opposite.
Deletethose deeps sleeps are good for you.but scary too..
ReplyDeletecan you reach out to your oldest son? my oldest son has been dead over a year and I wish I had quit waiting for him to reach out and reached out to him..and kept reaching out.
I have reached out to him. He has distanced himself from all of us.
DeleteIt certainly sounds as if you had a good sleep …
ReplyDeleteYou had some very nice Mother's Day gifts.
I pray that you and your oldest son can resolve your problems.
All the best Jan
I pray that we can. It's not going to be easy though. He wants no part of this family since he has married 'rich'.
Deletepuff pastry dough is one of my favorites...yummy...
