Saturday Thought of the Day

The history of our grandparents is remembered not with rose petals but in the laughter and tears of their children and their children’s children. It is into us that the lives of grandparents have gone. It is in us that their history becomes a future.

  1. Although I, myself, never had children, one does not need to in order to understand the true significance of this deep quote. Thank you, Mary. ;)

  2. Very true! We are the culmination of all our ancestors.

  3. How I wish I had known my grandparents. Or indeed any relatives other than immediate family.

  4. I was my grandparents often because there was no one to take care of me. I had 2 aunts and 1 uncle on mom's side. We only saw them at Christmas. Very cold family. Never knew anyone on my dad's side because mom didn't want any part of them. Sadly my grandparents on his side had passed. I did meet one cousin and correspond of FB with another.

  5. Very true! Unfortunately, I really didn't know any of my grandparents, except for my mother's dad! Big Hugs!
