Candlelit Heart

As I was packing today, a touch of Christmas spirit overcame me.  I looked at my tree an ornaments all packed and ready to go to their new home, and I realized.  This is a first for me.  Even in my poorest of days, my place would be decorated and waiting for Christmas by now.  My tree will definitely go up in my new home, but I am not so sure if I will have time for the village.  But, hey, there will be many years to come, and besides,  I have my blog so let me have some fun decorating.

Not feeling up to par anyway.  Woke up with a sinus headache that just doesn't want to go away.  Did some packing, then had to lie down for a bit of rest...but the darned headache was still there when I woke up.  My sinuses always go haywire this time of year.  Heat has newly been turned on and with our lack of windows, there is very little air to circulate.  But, hey, soon that will be a thing of the past...just as my unlit tree.

I do love the following poem. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

"Somewhere across the winter world tonight
You will be hearing chimes that fill the air;
Christmas extends its all-enfolding light
Across the distance...something we can share.

You will be singing, just the same as I,
These familiar songs we know so well,
And you will see these same stars in your sky
And wish upon that brightest one that fell.

I shall remember you and trim my tree,
One shining star upon the topmost bough;
I will hang wreaths of faith that all may see --
Tonight I glimpse beyond the hear and now.

And all the time that we must be apart
I keep a candle in my heart."

  2. Don't let all the things you have to do.... Keep you from getting enough rest. No time now to get a winter cold.

    But I know how it is, with heat starting up. And it must be worse in your very unventilated present condition.

    But wonderful change is coming!!!

    Gentle hugs,
    "For Christmas is tradition time-- Traditions that recall
    The precious memories down the years,
    The sameness of them all."

  5. Mary take good care of yourself...you don't need to be sick right now with everything coming up. I'm glad you are taking rests in between things.

    Love the new look over here...very festive, yet peaceful too. :)

    I can hardly wait to see pics of your new place, lol...I'm like a child on Christmas Eve!

    So...when is the big move day?

    I loved the poem you shared. Why is this time of year always flooded with memories? Each time I hang something or put something out, I have a recollection from the past. So wistful, Yule/Christmas is...perhaps intended by Creator to prompt us to think and be Love.]I'm musing aloud now...ha ha ha!

    Ahhh well, I'm going with the flow these days and I hope you are too my Sister! :) As I said, Take Great Care and I send you my Love!
