Look to This Day

Look to this day!
For it is life, the very life of life.
In its brief course lie all the verities
and realities of your existence:
The bliss of growth
The glory of action
The splendor of achievement,
For yesterday is but a dream
And tomorrow is only a vision,
But today well lived makes every yesterday
a dream of happiness
And tomorrow a vision of hope.
Look well, therefore, to this day!
Such is the salutation to the dawn.

Ancient Sanskrit Poem

Didn't sleep very well last night so thus far today I have been moving around in a fog.   Should have called in sick today.  Don't know why I didn't.  Sometimes I am just a glutton for punishment.   Needless to say, I am here, and I am trying very hard to stay focused on the day as the poem above says, but truth be told, all I can think about is crawling into my bed tonight.

Hoping you all have a great day.  I'm going to try my best to make the most of mine.

  1. Seriously, Mary, if you ever get a chance to rent the movie "Billy Elliot", do so! It's a wonderful story of being yourself against all the impossible odds, no matter what anyone else thinks, says or does to stop you. It's bloody marvelous!

  2. Hope you can pace yourself today. And then crawl back into your bed, nice and early, tonight. Sounds as if your bod is telling you, you need to.

  3. Hugs Mary :) hurry home and crawl under the duvet x x x

  4. Good morning Mary....sorry you didn't have a good night's sleep. Sleep depravation is really the pits. BTW.....woman hater visited me today....thanks for that heads up.

    Rest quietly tonight sweet lady,

  5. That movie Debra mentioned has picqued my interest. If I ever see it I will pick it up.
Today finds me putting one foot in front of the other. :0(
Hope you get the rest your mind and body needs tonight my friend. I wish the same for myself.
(((hugs))) and HOPE for better tomorrows.
