Saturday Blessings

If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy,
if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you,
if the simple things of nature have a message that you understand,
rejoice, for your soul is alive.

~ Eleonora Duse ~

What a simply majestic day it is!  The sky is so amazingly blue.  A little warmer than I might want, but, hey, can't have everything.  Last night my son went out to the back porch and called for me to join him.  "Look at the sky,"  he said.  "So many stars.  I have never seen so many stars."  And it gave my heart joy...not only to witness the beauty of the heavens with my firstborn at my side, but also that he, as well, is in awe of nature.   It was truly a wonderful closure to what had been a horrific day.

A busy cooking day ahead for me,and if I hope to get done at some point today, I guess I have to get started.  So,  it's off to put on my chef wear (an old cotton nightie) and get to work.  Hope you all have a blessed day.  I'll leave you with the following blessing:

May the stars carry your sadness away,
May the flowers fill your heart with beauty,
May hope forever wipe away your tears,
And, above all, may silence make you strong.

  3. I can understand how happy it made you, to have your son do that. I'm very happy for you. Especially since it had been a rotten day.
