Scorpio New Moon on November 6th

The new moon, of no importance
lingers behind as the yellow sun glares
and is gone beyond the sea's edge;
earth smokes blue;
the new moon, in cool height above the blushes,
brings a fresh fragrance of heaven to our senses.
By D.H. Lawrence (1885-1930

The New Moon signifies rebirth, beginnings, a clean slate, and the start of a new cycle; this month it will  be at  13 degrees of Scorpio, the sign of death that gives birth to the new.  During this period of time, the Moon makes a conjunction with the sun, creating a tremendous force when the two converge.  This looks to be  a psychically rich New Moon , making it a great time to tune into higher wisdom.  Furthermore, this looks to  be a particularly potent New Moon  because it is sitting  alone in the sky.   Aside from this conjunction and a semi-sextile from Saturn in Libra,   the moon makes no major aspects to other planets; hence, we will find ourselves left to our own resources  to dive deep and explore the  themes of death and rebirth.   We must enter into our subconscious and find who we are.

Scorpio is the sign of transformation so this moon will not only be about exploring  your darker side, but also about accepting those parts and cleansing yourself so that your spirit may help to heal others in a loving and compassionate way. This sign can be so  profound that it may be experienced as being uncomfortable, but all and all it  can be fascinating and magical for in  cleansing our spirit of upsetting past emotional issues and looking within, we can build a stronger personality

Scorpio represents that which is hidden, the unseen, the things that are kept in the dark. When you say or feel that you “don’t want to go there” what you are actually alluding to is  the realm of Scorpio. During a Scorpio New Moon, subjects considered to be taboo may rise to the surface, and if your natural reflex is to turn a blind eye to these, give yourself permission to just contemplate them for a moment, even if only from a distance. You may end up finding them a great source of learning; even just understanding why it is that they cause aversion itself is a powerful lesson.

The ruler of the New Moon in Scorpio is Pluto which is conjunct the North Node and Ceres.   Ceres has to do with nurturing and Pluto with disintegration.
It is the planet of sex, death, intensity, psychology and power. But put it in aspect to Ceres and we are faced with the whole issue of the Persephone myth. In Roman mythology, Ceres and Jupiter have a daughter, Persephone. Venus orders  Cupid go shoot Pluto with an arrow so that he could find love. Pluto then kidnaps Persephone and takes her to the underworld and makes her his wife by force.  Ceres considers Pluto to be an unworthy son-in-law, primarily because he kidnapped Persephone.  So, the energy between these two celestial bodies seems like it would be controversial and difficult.  The underworld is that place we might call the world of unknowing; it is our unconscious mind.

The New Moon  in Scorpio may indeed force some of us to confront and be adversarial in order to rise stronger than ever before.. to become as the  Phoenix that rises  out of the ashes.   Scorpio's work is all about the struggle to let go and to let things die...the struggle to release old emotional wounds that keep us from transforming our egos and connecting with the Self.  This is why Scorpio is such a powerful and intense sign. That's the work we all must do at this time of year... to release what no longer serves our lives. Seek the deeper truth and don’t be afraid of  change. Snuggle up in your home, with someone you feel safe with, and go deep into your heart and investigate what you find there. Do not be afraid of the power of this Full Moon

    Stopping in to say goodnight and see you in the Dreamlodge! I'll be popping in and out the next few days now as I still am seeking the silence and rest...it feels truly wonderful. I hope you can find time for rest and replenishment as well.
